Do I need to be referred to a chiropractor?

All patients can consult a chiropractor directly without referral from a medical doctor or specialist. You can contact us directly for an examination and treatment. Referral from a doctor can improve the treatment process, as medical information can be easily exchanged, avoiding unnecessary repetition.
Cost is covered by the basic policy on all health insurance companies, and also by accident, military or disability insurance. The only exception to this is the general practitioner-centred policy, where the patient forfeits their right to free medical choice, and therefore requires referral from a medical doctor.
For an appointment, please call 027 456 84 05.
Position in the health care system
Swiss law acknowledges chiropractic doctors as medical professionals and independent representatives of medicine, like medical doctors and dentists.

The chiropractor is authorised to establish their own diagnosis and is responsible for treating their own patients. This includes the ability to decide if treatment of a patient falls into their field of responsibility. The patient does not require a prescription to be treated by the chiropractor.
